■ 講座介紹

本場講座將探討印度當代文化的發展，以及劉瑄臻小姐習藝取經之旅和親身經歷。印度是傳統與現代文化並存之國度，當代印度文化不僅保留其藝術遺產，同時致力於和世界分享其文化資產。藉由劉小姐在印度學習藝術的旅程經歷，她將向聽眾介紹印度最古老的古典舞蹈形式之一摩希尼亞坦、印度的豐富壁畫遺產以及在印度學習藝術的相關機會。此外，劉小姐將同時為大家帶來一場摩希尼亞坦舞蹈演出。

■ 講者簡介　劉瑄臻／藝術家

臺灣藝術家劉瑄臻小姐，身兼舞者及畫家。目前仍在南印度喀拉拉邦著名的Kalamandalam藝術大學，研習印度最具代表性的摩希尼亞坦古典舞蹈。由於其舞藝精湛，深得該項傳統舞蹈精髓。劉小姐約於11年前第一次造訪印度，在其學習摩希尼亞坦古典舞蹈之前，曾在印度寶萊塢電影中擔任舞者。同樣在其畫作中，致力於將印度和漢學傳統文化之元素揉合一起。劉小姐持續定期於臺灣籌辦印度舞蹈相關的工作坊，並與喀拉拉邦的臺灣電影節保持緊密的關係。

■ Introduction of the Talk

The Talk will focus on the contemporary cultural growth in India and the experience of learning Indian art in India. India is country where tradition and modernity thrive together. Contemporary India not just preserves its art heritage but also endeavors to share it with the world. Through Ms. Liu’s journey of learning art in India, this Talk will introduce the listeners to one of India’s oldest classical dance forms Mohiniyattam, India’s rich heritage of mural painting and the opportunities available for learning art in India.  The Talk will also feature a Mohiniyattam recital by Ms. Liu.

■ Introduction of the Speaker

Ms. Hsuan Chen Liu is a dancer and painter.  She is currently studying the classical Indian dance form Mohiniyattam at the prestigious Kerala Kalamandalam institute in India. Ms. Liu first went to India almost 11 years ago, and prior to learning Mohiniyattam has worked as a dancer in Bollywood movies. In her paintings, Ms. Liu endeavors to bring together elements of traditional Indian and Chinese  cultures. Ms. Liu has been regularly organizing workshops on Indian dance in Taiwan and is also closely associated with the Taiwan film festival in Kerala.
